Animation Review - Inanimate Insanity || Episode 11 Part 1

What Is Inanimate Insanity?
Inanimate Insanity is an animated series on youtube created by Adam Katz about a bunch of 18 inanimate objects competing to win a prize of one million dollars. When the show began in 2011 it didn't get hat much attention and the early episodes of the show, to quote one of the animators ,Taylor Grodin "awful". But as the show went on the episodes have gotten much better over the years and i have grew much more of a fan of the series. On December 23, 2016, the eleventh episode of the second season was released. and with a rich story, and complex character design, I've decided to talk about the episode. I strongly recommend that you watch episodes 5 through 10 of season 2 before reading the review, for you will be lost without knowing whats going on. i have provided a link to all the episodes
Episode 5
Episode 6
Episode 7
Episode 8
Episode 9
Episode 10
Im warning you now Episode 5 is not the best.
Animation Review
For those of you who have not seen the episode, i highly recommend it, heres a link:Inanimate Insanity II - Episode 11 [Part 1]: "Kick the Bucket". the Entire episode was puppet animated in adobe flash and it looks incredible. I personally find the animation style of Niall Burns, one of the animators on the show to be perfectly seamless and at times funny. My favorate of his was the One where it is revealed to
One of Nialls scenes (9:29)
the cast that Marshmallow is missing with a very clever split screen of all the characters, with one character missing from the bunch
The attention to detail in the lip syncing animation is one of my personal favorite parts about the animation in the episode. I'm pretty sure they used masking to make the mouth look more fluid.
I also very much love the last scene of the episode when suitcase dives into the water to retrieve the fallen bucket from the water.the frame by frame with the sea weed is very impressive. obviously animation college has helped adam improve his skills.
Overall, the animation in this episode very impressive and fluid all throughout. I give the animation a 9/10 Would watch again.

  1. Do you animate on your iPad or on your computer? Have you considered getting a tablet?
